Sikanol®
Sikanol® is a liquid admixture developed to plasticise/air entrain sand/cement masonry mortars.
- Provides plasticity to sand/cement mortar by the entrainment of a controlled amount of air
- High levels of consistency and improved cohesion
- Provides enhanced productivity
Usage
Sikanol® allows the production of plasticised/air entrained sand/cement masonry mortars.Sikanol® is mainly used for the following applications:
- In conjunction with SikaTard R to provide masonry mortars for laying brick/blocks manufactured from absorbent materials such as clay, sand-line and concrete.

Concreting Guidance
The standard rules of good mortar/concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed.
Laboratory trials shall be carried out before concreting on site, especially when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components.
Fresh mortar/concrete must be cured properly and curing applied as early as possible.
Application
Compatibility
Sikanol® may be combined with many other Sika products.
Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact our Technical Service Department for information and advice about any specific combinations.
Dispensing
Sikanol® is added to the gauging water or added with it into the mortar/concrete mixer.
Restrictions
When using Sikanol® a suitable mix design has to be taken into account and local material sources shall be trialled.
Sikanol® shall not be added to dry cement.
Overdosing may increase the entrained air which will give higher workability and a longer working life but lower compressive strength.
Saturated bricks/blocks may cause a delay in setting/curing.
Support from our Technical Service Department is recommended.
Frost: If frozen and / or if precipitation has occurred, Sikanol® may be used after thawing slowly at room temperature followed by intensive remixing.
Equipment
Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Recommended Dosage
0.05 – 0.4% by weight of cement
