SikaPlast®-800 is a new generation, high performance superplasticizer that offers workability maintenance.

SikaPlast®-800 is a powerful superplasticizer based on advanced technology which offers the following advantages:
  • High water reduction, resulting in more dense concrete with increased strengths and reduced permeability
  • Mixes that are less sensitive against variations in aggregates and / or different cement types
  • Is very efficient even at low dosage rates
  • Prolonged workability
  • Superior plasticizing effect, resulting in improved flow, placing and compaction characteristics
  • Reduced shrinkage during curing and reduced creep when hardened
  • Many opportunities for cost improvement e.g.:

SikaPlast®-800 does not contain chlorides or any other ingredients which promote the corrosion of steel. It is therefore suitable for use in reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures.

Usage

SikaPlast®-800 is a multipurpose superplasticizer that is particularly suitable for the production of ready mixed concrete. Additionally it provides high water reduction and improved fresh concrete characteristics.
SikaPlast®-800 is used for the following applications:
  • In cases of demands for high workability
  • Concrete with high water reduction
  • Highly efficient concrete applications
  • Ready Mix Concrete production
  • Variable use in different concrete systems with different raw materials

Technical Information

Concreting Guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed.
Laboratory trials shall be carried out before concreting on site, especially when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components.
Fresh concrete must be cured properly and curing applied as early as possible.

Compatibility

SikaPlast®-800 can be combined with the following Sika products:

- Sika® Visco I-100

In all cases, it is recommended to conduct trial tests before combining products.

Dispensing

SikaPlast®-800 is added to the gauging water or added with it into the concrete mixer.
To take advantage of the high water reduction, a wet mixing time, which depends on the mixing conditions and mixer performance of at least 60sec/m3 is recommended.

Restrictions

  • When using SikaPlast®-800, a suitable mix design has to be taken into account and local material sources shall be trialled.
  • If frozen, SikaPlast®-800 can be used again after being slowly thawed at +300C and remixed intensively.
  • SikaPlast®-800 shall not be added to dry cement.
  • Before application, it is recommended to conduct suitability tests.
  • In case of combining SikaPlast®-800 with retarding admixtures or in cases of high dosage, the setting time of concrete may be prolonged.
 
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.3-1.8% by weight of cement.
For normal demands use 0.3-1.2% and in case of increased demands use 1.3-1.8%.
