Sikadur®-30 LP

Thixotropic adhesive for bonding reinforcement

Sikadur®-30 LP is a thixotropic, structural 2-part adhesive, based on a combination of epoxy resins and especially designed for use at higher temperatures between +25 °C and +55 °C.

Usage

Suitable for structural strengthening (Principle 4, Method 4.3 of EN 1504-9). Increasing the bearing capacity of the concrete structure by bonding plate reinforcement. Adhesive for bonding structural reinforcement, particularly in structural strengthening works. Especially for the following uses:
  • Sika® CarboDur® Plates to concrete, brickwork, timber and steel (for details see the Sika® CarboDur® Product Data Sheet, 850 41 05 Method Statement Sika® CarboDur® System and 850 41 07 Method Statement Sika CarboDur® NSM Reinforcement).
  • Steel plates to concrete.

The pot life begins when the resin and hardener are mixed. It is shorter at high temperatures and longer at low temperatures. The greater the quantity mixed, the shorter the pot life. To obtain longer workability at high temperatures, the mixed adhesive may be divided into portions. Another method is to chill components A+B before mixing them (not below +5 °C).

MIXING

PRE-BATCHED UNITS

  1. IMPORTANT Mix full units only. Prior to mixing all parts, mix part A (resin) briefly using a mixing spindle attached to a slow-speed electric mixer (max. 300 rpm).
  2. Add part A to part B (hardener) and mix parts A+B continuously for at least 3 minutes until a uniformly coloured, smooth consistency mix has been achieved.
  3. IMPORTANT Do not overmix. To ensure thorough mixing, pour materials into a clean container and mix again for approximately 1 minute. Mixing time for A+B = 4 minutes.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
