Pakistan is currently facing the aftermath of devastating flooding due to the unprecedented rains. This natural disaster has made millions homeless, and thousands have lost their lives.

The most severe flooding in recent Pakistani history was caused by torrential monsoon rains, which washed away villages and left about 3.4 million children in need of assistance and more vulnerable to waterborne diseases, drowning, and malnutrition. In this hour of need, it's important to understand the severity of the situation and the havoc caused by the nationwide floods. The displaced people are looking for shelter, food, and medical care. The risk of of disease in flood-affected areas increases due to the lack of clean water and sanitation.

Sika Pakistan has mobilized its workforce to help provide essential rations and potentially life-saving medical camps in flood hit areas.  Flood relief medical camps were set up in Swat, Balochistan, DG Khan, and its surrounding areas.  Sika and its employees made every effort to assist affected children and families and help protect them from the ongoing risks of waterborne diseases by providing medical aid. The free Sika medical camps and food distribution points helped more than 500 people who are malnourished and suffering from a wide range of diseases and injuries. Along with providing medical assistance Sika Pakistan also delivered much needed food ration boxes to 100 families, consisting of essential items. Sika Pakistan considers that regaining health is the first step that needs to be taken to recover from the devastation caused by floods. We hope to play a vital role in helping flood victims survive and rebuild their lives.

Sika is working to provide both immediate and long-term aid to children and families and will continue this effort as part of their corporate responsibility in Pakistan.
